Brač to Lastovo ferry just left

If you have visited Brac island and would like to visit Lastovo it is not difficult to find your way here.

The distance from Brač to Lastovo is about 48 nautical miles (about 88 km) and it is possible to arrive here in one day.

There are no direct ferries to Lastovo from Brač island, however, there are some indirect ferry routes that I will describe to you below:

Foot passengers:

If you are a foot passenger, your best option is, if you travel between April to October, to take a fast catamaran ferry line number 998 that leaves daily at 08:10 from Milna to Hvar.  Timetables are here. The journey lasts for about 30 minutes.  Book it online here.

Spend the day sightseeing in Hvar Town and take Jadrolinija’s afternoon ferry (route no 9604) at 15:10 (or 16:15) to Ubli port on Lastovo.

You will be in Lastovo around 17:00 or 18:00 (June to September). Timetables are here.

From June to September this ferry leaves at 16:15 arriving at 18:05. Book it online here

If you don’t mind that you will not arrive on the same day, the alternative options are also via Hvar island.

You would need to overnight on Hvar island as all alternative ferries arrive too late to get connecting ferry to Lastovo. They include all year around Bol to Jelsa ferry and June to September one from Bol to Hvar town.

If you travel off-season, to reach Lastovo from Brač you would need to go back to Split and take a ferry from there. Bear in mind you have to reach Split before 15:00 to catch a connecting ferry.

The best port to leave for Split is Supetar as there are several daily ferries from there to Split.  (again, see schedule info on croatiaferries.com site)

By Car:

If you are travelling by car your best option is to take a car ferry from Supetar to Split and from there to take another car ferry to Ubli – Lastovo. Both ferries are daily ferries that are in service all year round. They also take foot passengers.

See all info here about how to get from Split to Lastovo.

The alternative route is to drive to Sumartin ferry port on Brac island and take a ferry from there to Makarska on the mainland. From there you can drive to Orebic, cross to Korcula island and drive to Vela Luka where you can catch a ferry to Lastovo that departs at 18:00 (check info for Jadrolinija’s 604 car ferry route)

This option is suitable for people who prefer not to go to Split port (busy, hot, and annoying in summer’s heath) or need to travel somewhere else on the mainland, and from that point, it is closer to reach Korcula island than drive back to Split to get car ferry from there.

This way of travel is good if you are also visiting the Dubrovnik area and want to get by car to Lastovo so just got to Peljesac, cross to Korcula and catch the ferry from Vela Luka. It is recommended option for off-season travelling when other ferries do not operate. (all connecting schedules are on the croatiaferries.com website)

Private boat transfer:

There are some private boat transfers that are offered to get to Lastovo but are not reliable as the weather can be unpredictable and you may get stuck. Instead, I recommend you get regular public transport ferries. Yes, they are slower but much more reliable.

I would always recommend choosing fast ferries if the weather is ok but if the weather is not great I recommend you to choose a car ferry to travel with as they are much more stable in bad weather and are more likely they will be in service, as fast ferries find hard to cope with bad weather.
